New online shopping site Jewelista.com has been launched, cultivating international talent for jewelry and positioning itself as a palette for coordinating fashionable looks.
“Jewelista.com was born out of the idea that jewelry is just as important as apparel in expressing personal style,” Baiju Bhansali, founder of Jewelista.com and long-time diamond specialist, said.
Aiming to introduce international jewelry designers to consumers, the site offers fine and fashion jewelry from global designers hailing from Turkey, Austria, India, Ireland and Brazil, as well as several from the United States.
“Through our global travels, we began to discover exceptional design talent whose jewelry was not readily available in the U.S., each with a unique sensibility and fashion perspective,” Bhansali said. “One of the most distinguishable aspects of Jewelista.com is our commitment to bringing these emerging and established designed to the American consumer.”
Featured pieces are made from silver, gold, mixed metals, steel and gemstones, among other materials, with the majority of items falling in the $500-$3,000 price range. Statement necklaces, cuffs, cocktail rings, earrings and pendants are all available on the site.
Users can currently shop pieces by category, and all pieces on the site are shown to scale and photographed from various angles, so shippers may eliminate the guesswork of what the jewelry looks like as a whole. Additional search engine features are expected to be added to the site, as well as customizable interactive components that will allow visitors follow a particular designer or share their jewelry likes and interests with other users. A “wish list” will allow users to email desired jewelry to friends and family.
The Style Guide section of the website contains original content focused building a jewelry wardrobe. All original content, the Guide covers trends currently happening in fashion and give tips on matching jewelry to those trends.
Jewelista.com also offers a section that profiles featured designers, letting consumers in on their personal and professional backgrounds, as well as what inspires their designs. A “From Our Travels” on the site will offer limited capsule collections from select designers, and are expected to change frequently.
“From our launch and beyond, we want Jewelista.com to be a welcoming online destination for jewelry lovers,” Bhansali said.
